The Orthotic & Prosthetic Activities Foundation awarded Jeff Henderson, CO, the 2012 Dale Yasukawa Scholarship, according to a press release.
Completing his residency and education in orthotics in 2009, Henderson has volunteered for mission trips to Guatemala, and has participated in charity events to benefit orthotic and prosthetic patients. He will finish his formal education in prosthetics this year.
All full-time certificate candidates enrolled at Northwestern University Prosthetics-Orthotics Center are eligible for the scholarship program, which encourages student participation in their local annual meeting of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP). The award is expected to be used specifically to help pay for AAOP meeting registration fees, as well as assist in purchasing books, supplies and equipment for ongoing studies at Northwestern.
“We are very pleased with the selection of Jeff Henderson as the 2012 Dale Yasukawa Scholarship winner and believe that he will reflect the fine work that has come to be recognized as our scholarship winners,” Robin Burton, OPAF executive director, said in the release.
