At the 2012 Paralympic Track and Field Trials in Indianapolis, Ind., several Hanger patient athletes placed in events including discus throw, shot put, 100m dash, 200m dash and 400m dash, according to a press release.

Jeremy Campbell, a transtibial amputee, received first place in the discus event after throwing 62.52m.
Finishing in 15.93 seconds in the 100m, Cameron Clapp, a triple amputee, not only ran an all-time personal best, but was the first triple amputee to finish the race in less than 16 seconds.
Erik Doty, a transtibial amputee, threw a distance of 38.41m in the discus throw and 10.56 m in the shot put, finishing second in both events.

Josh Kennison, a quadruple amputee, jumped 5.29m in the long jump, setting a new world record in his classification.
Blake Leeper, a double transtibial amputee, set an American record in the 100m and became the first US competitor in his classification to finish the run in less than 11 seconds. He set a second American best in the 200m dash with a time of 21.70 seconds, and placed first in the 400m dash with a time of 50.68 seconds.
David Prince, a transtibial amputee, placed second in the 400m dash with a time of 53.49 seconds.
With a time of 18.04 seconds, Katy Sullivan, a double transfemoral amputee, took first place in her classification in the 100m competition.

On July 1, Campbell, Leeper, Prince and Sullivan were announced as nominees for the 2012 US Paralympic Track and Field team. If selected, they will represent the United States in the 2012 Paralympic Games in London from August 9 to September 9.
