The National Commission for Certifying Agencies reaccredited the Board of Certification/Accreditation International’s orthotist, prosthetist, orthotic fitter and mastectomy fitter certification programs through 2016.
The National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) reviewed programs and procedures, skill sets, assessment methods and statistical procedures for validating results. The accreditation process assesses the quality of an organization and its programs and services, measuring them against published standards. The Board of Certification/Accreditation International (BOC) is currently the only O&P certification organization with NCCA accreditation for all of its certification programs, according to a BOC press release.
“Reaccreditation by NCCA shows that we continue to provide high quality certification programs,” Jan Paul Miller, MA, MEd, certification director for BOC, stated in the release. “This assures our certificants and other stakeholders of the continuing excellence in our credentialing programs.”
