Kevin Carroll, MS, CP, FAAOP, MS, CP, FAAOP, vice president of prosthetics, Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics Inc., was awarded the Roscrea People of the Year International Award by Roscrea People, a publication in Roscrea, County Tipperary, Ireland, for his innovative work with prosthetics and amputees.
Carroll was born and raised in Roscrea. He has more than 30 years of experience in the O&P industry, beginning his career in Dublin in 1978. He is most known for co-developing the Hanger ComfortFlex Socket System, as well as designing the first prosthetic tail for a dolphin, which inspired the recent movie, Dolphin Tale.
“I am extremely honored to be selected as the recipient of this award and would like to thank Roscrea People and the selection committee for thinking of me so far away on the other side of the Atlantic,” Carroll stated in a press release. “Although I wasn’t able to receive the award in person, I was certainly there in spirit and happy that my brother, Gerry, was able to accept the award on my behalf.”
