The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) announced that registration is now open for all suppliers interested in participating in the Round 2 and national mail-order competitions for the Medicare Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies (DMEPOS) Competitive Bidding Program.
Suppliers must designate one authorized official (AO) listed on the CMS-855S enrollment form. After the AO is officially registered, he or she may designate others to serve as backup authorized officials (BAOs) and end users (EUs). Every designated employee must register for a user ID and password through the Individuals Authorized Access to the CMS Computer Services system on the Competitive Bidding Implementation Contractor website in order to access the online bidding system. AOs are encouraged to register no later than December 22, and BAOs and EUs should register no later than January 12, 2012. Registration officially closes on February 9, 2012.
When bidding opens on January 30, 2012, suppliers can submit bids using the DMEPOS online bidding system. To register, visit www.dmecompetitivebid.com.
