LAS VEGAS – The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Robert E. Arbogast, president of WillowWood and Rudolf B. Becker III, president and chief executive officer of Becker Orthopedic at the 2011 American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association (AOPA) National Assembly here. Each year, the AOPA board of directors honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the O&P field.
“This is an award not won, but earned,” Tom Watson, CP said.
Arbogast graciously accepted the honor.
“I have never been so humbled,” Arbogast said.
Becker was also honored at the National Assembly. Tom DiBello, CO, FAAOP, AOPA president, presented Becker with his award.
“A lot of people do not realize that early in my career I worked for Rudy,” DiBello said. “He had a tremendous influence on me. He was one of the smartest business men I ever worked for.”
Becker told the audience the Lifetime Achievement Award was special to him.
“This is a special field,” Becker said. “I have been around for 31 years and it is unusual to be given an award for being part of a profession that you feel truly blessed to be in.”
