A Northwestern University Prosthetics-Orthotics Center (NUPOC) student has won a Sonic Foundry Rich Media Impact Award (RMIA) in the Student Impact category. Sonic Foundry makes Mediasite, the software/hardware solution that NUPOC uses for lecture capture and live and on-demand streaming of presentations and lectures for its distance learners.
Richard Miltenberger, a NUPOC prosthetics student, submitted an original video he created about how he has benefited from using Mediasite in NUPOC’s blended learning program.
Miltenberger is the second NUPOC student to win this award. In 2009, NUPOC prosthetics student Jenna Lombardo won NUPOC’s first Sonic Foundry RMIA in the Student Impact Award category.
Miltenberger will receive a $2,500 scholarship, and NUPOC will receive a new Mediasite recorder valued at $5,000. NUPOC offers its congratulations and appreciation to students like Richard Miltenberger and Jenna Lombardo who creatively demonstrate the power of distance learning at NUPOC.
