The Amputee Coalition announced the support of WillowWood as a Lodestone Sponsor of the Amputee Coalition’s Paddy Rossbach Youth Camp for 2011. The youth camp is a 5-day traditional summer camp experience for children ages 10 to 17 years who have lost an arm or leg or were born with limb differences.
“WillowWood has been a supporter of the Amputee Coalition since 1997. We are grateful for their continued support of our youth camp. This sponsorship will help us to reach our goal of bringing 100 youths to the camp this July,” Kendra Calhoun, Amputee Coalition president and chief executive officer, stated in a press release. “The camp continues to provide opportunities for campers to meet other young people with limb loss and to learn that they are not alone.”
WillowWood also supports the program by volunteering. For the past 3 years employees have volunteered their time at a special event that is part of WillowWood’s camp sponsorship.
“The special event gives our employees a chance to see what impact the company is having on the lives of the campers. They look forward to the camp all year long,” Lisa Watkins, communications coordinator at WillowWood, stated.
