Mark Edwards, CP, has accepted the position of professional and clinical services director for Otto Bock HealthCare. In his new position, Edwards is responsible for setting the direction and overseeing the delivery of clinical and technical education, while also building and maintaining strong partnerships with Otto Bock customers in order to promote improved outcomes for their patients.
“What especially stands out over Edwards’ nearly 30 years experience in the health care industry is an emphasis on providing clinical support to practitioners to ensure they can deliver optimum solutions to their patients,” Brad Ruhl, chief executive officer and president of Otto Bock U.S. HealthCare, stated in a press release. “He is well known and highly respected as a clinical educator and practitioner and we are pleased to have him lead the professional and clinical services area for Otto Bock.”
Edwards is an American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics-certified prosthetist and has a bachelor of science in physical education and a master’s of health professions education from the University of Illinois.
Prior to joining Otto Bock, he was the director of prosthetics education at Northwestern University Prosthetics-Orthotics Center. In addition to receiving the “outstanding educator” award from the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists Edwards has lectured extensively and his writings have appeared in more than dozen publications. He is also a contributing faculty member at Northwestern in the areas of prosthetics and orthotics, as well as physical medicine and rehabilitation.
