The Orthotic and Prosthetic Group of America (OPGA) announced their partnership with the Kassel Group Inc (KGI) to present the Applied Technology Institute (ATi) orthotic fitter school at a special tuition rate to its members.
The ATi is available through live courses held three times per year, and also online on a 24-7 basis. Online attendees still need to attend a live 1-day hands-on fitting lab, conducted in conjunction with the live schools in order to complete the program. However, this hybrid version has been a great alternative for many attendees. A new website and new online content are now available.
KGI was formed in 2004 to create and sponsor independent educational opportunities for professionals in O&P and DME.
“I taught at a manufacturing company-sponsored school for years,” Robert Meier, president of Kassel Group stated in a press release. “The company expected me to sell their products during the school, and that took away time from the actual medical education aspects of the fitter school. That’s when we decided an independent approach would provide superior education. We made the right decision. Our students at ATi pass certification tests at rates higher than the national average, so that validates our programs.”
