The Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) elected Dennis Strickland to their 2011 board of directors.
“We are honored to have Dennis join our board as we enter our 25th year,” Kendra Calhoun, president and chief executive officer of the ACA, stated in a press release. “As we look to the future and develop our strategic plans, we will value the experience Dennis brings to the table as an upper-level executive manager with both multinational corporations major nonprofit organizations.”
Strickland, an amputee, serves as the chairman of the ACA Membership Committee. He has also been as a member of the organization’s Philanthropy Case for Support Task Force as well as the Education Workshop. He served as the chief financial officer of the Amputee Foundation of Greater Atlanta.
Strickland has been active for more than 25 years with the American Heart Association (AHA) having served as chairman of the Georgia affiliate of AHA; a member of the executive committee of the Southeast Affiliate of the AHA; and served on AHA committees in the area of budget review and human resources, benefits and pensions.
Strickland holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech, an MBA degree from George State University, and attended advanced management programs at Harvard and Williams Colleges.
