Challenge Aspen Military Opportunities (CAMO) welcomed 10 wounded warriors for its second annual winter retreat, Dec. 15-20. The women will travel from across the nation to embark upon a fun and therapeutic program designed specifically for their needs. Many of the women have been injured on the front lines of combat in Iraq and Afghanistan; injuries include but are not limited to amputations, traumatic brain injuries, paralysis, visual impairments and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Each participant will receive one-on-one adaptive instruction in various disciplines of adaptive skiing at Snowmass Mountain. Other activities will include a wellness day at the Glenwood Hot Springs and celebration banquet. Each participant will set personal goals to work on throughout the week.
