In July, Acor Orthopaedic Inc. began hosting a clinical rotation at their northeastern Ohio facility for Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine (OCPM) students as part of their third year clinical education. The educational goal of the full-day rotation was to provide the students with a view of the role and function of a modern pedorthic production and manufacturing facility.
“This educational opportunity is a great addition to our biomechanics program for our third year students,” Bryan Caldwell, DPM, dean of clinical education at OCPM, stated in a press release. “It is extremely important for students to witness a complete pedorthic fabrication business to facilitate growth of their diagnostic and therapeutic abilities as future podiatric physicians. Additionally, this real world experience is an excellent way to gain a deeper and functional understanding of the pedorthic supply industry.”
