The Illinois Bone & Joint Institute (IBJI) of Glenview-Wilmette, Ill. announced it will provide immediate care of orthopedic-related injuries at IBJI OrthoAccess – a new clinic staffed by board-certified physicians who will treat injuries that need examination but do not necessarily require a trip to the emergency room, according to a press release.
IBJI OrthoAccess will open August 2, and will complement IBJI’s complete range of sub-specialty care including sports medicine, spine and rheumatology, hand and upper extremity, total joint, foot and ankle and general orthopedic care in addition to MRI, surgery and physical therapy services.
“IBJI OrthoAccess will allow residents on the North Shore to receive immediate care for orthopedic injuries that need treatment but don’t necessarily warrant a lengthy and costly visit to the [emergency room],” Melody Winter-Jabeck, administrator of IBJI Glenview-Wilmette division, stated in the release.
Patients can visit the clinic by appointment or simply as a walk-in patient. A visit to the facility will provide total diagnosis and care of the injury, from assessment and stabilization to treatment and follow-up services. Physicians at the clinic will focus primarily on providing compassion, thorough orthopedic treatment to a variety of non-emergency injuries such as simple fractures, sprains, strains, bumps, bruises, sports injuries, and minor automobile accidents.
“We’re providing patients with definitive, comprehensive care from the moment they enter our clinic,” Winter-Jabeck stated. “The sooner a person can be seen and receive treatment, the sooner they can get on the road to recovery and return to their daily activities.”
