Otto Bock HealthCare recently marked the opening of its new Innovation Center. At the facility, Otto Bock clinical specialists partner with providers to deliver hands-on support, direct from the manufacturer, to those with limb loss and mobility challenges.
Performing the ribbon cutting duties at the ceremony was U.S. Rep. Erik Paulsen (R – MN) who represents Minnesota’s 3rd District and is co-chair of the Med Tech Caucus.
“Otto Bock is continuing a tradition of attentive and innovative patient care here in the Third District. I am pleased to continue this partnership with a company that is focused on life-changing service and technology,” Paulsen stated in a press release.
Other honored guests at the ceremony were several members of the board of directors for the Amputee Coalition of America, representatives from Shriners Hospital, the Minnesota Veterans Administration and local practitioners and patients.
“Cooperative care provides the advanced product fitting experience and expertise of our staff clinicians, and we believe patients and their practitioners will find that support invaluable,” Bert Harman, regional chief executive officer, Otto Bock North America, stated. “Provided throughout the process is support from a care coordinator, a dedicated certified technician and a dedicated certified prosthetist/orthotist. We are confident no patient care issue will be left unresolved.”
The Innovation Center is designed to have all the elements for patient success readily available. Included are high-tech education rooms, a private fitting room and a lab. In addition, Otto Bock’s fabrication facility is located next to the Center making it possible for devices to be fabricated and necessary adjustments made on the spot.
