The U.S. Paralympics Powerlifting Team that will compete at the 2010 IPC Powerlifting World Championships on July 25-31 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia will consist of the follow members according to information available on the U.S. Paralympics website.
The women’s roster includes Chelsi Figley from East Palestine, Ohio and three-time Paralympian Mary Stack from Ann Harbour, Mich.
The men’s roster includes Shafik Ahmed from Tucson, Ariz., Tyker Brey from Rocklin, Calif., Leroy Sutton from Cleveland, Ohio, Jake Schrom from University Park, Pa. Kim Brownfield from Council Hill, Okla. and Anderson Wise from Needham, Mass.
The athletes qualified by competing in the 2010 IPC Powerlifting USA Championships, and by competing in the 2010 World Championships, the athletes will be able to qualify for the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.
“We are excited to have a new strong group of lifters to represent our country. They have worked hard and know Powerlifting is not only a sport, but a lifestyle,” Mary Hodge , U.S. head coach, said.
