Medical Rehabilitation & Kinematics Lab announced the hiring of
Patricia Gonzalez, OTR/L, as its new director of occupational therapy. Gonzalez
is a pioneer in the field of intensive therapy for people with physical
disabilities, offering the San Diego County facility’s clients her
expertise in occupational therapy, rehabilitation and hippotherapy.
“Patricia is a true leader in her field, and we feel privileged to
have her join our already passionate and skilled team,” Bradley A. Marcus,
DO, FAAPMR, founder and medical director of Medical Rehabilitation &
Kinematics Lab, said in a press release.
Gonzalez opened Sunshine Therapy in 2001, specializing in hippotherapy
and aquatic therapy and it was there that she discovered the power of Suit
Therapy with the TheraSuit. Her research proved that traditional approaches to
rehabilitative therapy were not maximizing results, so she focused on
developing programs and innovative technology that would eventually help her
patients reach their full potential.
“Medical Rehabilitation & Kinematics Lab is unlike any other
rehabilitation center in the country,” Gonzalez said. “I sought out
to find a facility that provided the capabilities and resources to enable me to
best help my patients reach their full potential, and that is exactly what I
found with Dr. Marcus and Medical Rehabilitation & Kinematics Lab. I am
honored to be joining such a compassionate and progressive team.”
