The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International announced that the inpatient rehabilitation program and stroke specialty program of the Comprehensive Acute Rehabilitation Unit of the department of rehabilitation medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital have been re-accredited for a period of 3 years. The accreditation extends through February 2013.
“This accreditation validates Jefferson’s standing as one of the premiere destinations for patients seeking rehabilitative service in Philadelphia and throughout the Delaware Valley,” John Melvin, MD, chair of the department of rehabilitation medicine at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, said in a press release. “By pursuing and achieving accreditation, Jefferson has demonstrated that it meets international standards for quality and is committed to pursuing excellence.”
