New Hand Prosthesis Introduced at Academy

CHICAGO – Touch Bionics will unveil the i-LIMB Pulse, here, at the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists Annual Meeting and Scientific Symposium.

The i-LIMB Pulse includes a pulsating grip and aluminum features, according to Touch Bionics.

The hand prosthesis is offered in two low-profile sizes, and comes with a range of different covering styles from high-tech “robotic” through to custom-made coverings that accurately match a user’s skin type, according to a company press release.

“We know that the majority of users prefer a smaller device … the i-LIMB Pulse range is modeled on a low-profile design, offering two sizes that will accommodate almost all patient requirements,” Hugh Gill, Touch Bionics’ director of technology stated in the release.

The product will be officially released on June 1.
