Amputee sprinter Oscar Pistorius has won his appeal to compete in the Olympic Games in Beijing.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) determined that there is not enough scientific evidence to prove whether Pistorius receives an advantage with the Cheetah prostheses he wears during competition.
The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) ruled in January that the Cheetah prostheses the 21-year-old South African races with were energy efficient, giving him a competitive edge against able-bodied runners.
The CAS panel reviewed the case and obtained results from independent testing, which led them to overturn the IAAF ruling May 16.
Pistorius has set world records in the 100, 200 and 400 meter events in the Paralympics. Although he is now eligible to compete, he still has to qualify for the Olympics in August.
